A group of New Jersey preschoolers is proving you're never too young to make a difference.

Students from Primrose Schools across the state recently collected and delivered 725 books to local community organizations in honor of National Reading Month.

The effort was part of "Og's Bountiful Book Drive," a signature initiative named after "Og the Bookworm," a Primrose character that encourages a lifelong love of reading and the spirit of giving.

The students called on their families and neighbors to help gather the donations, which were distributed to several nonprofits, including the Bridge of Books Foundation, The Uncommon Thread, Ozanam Family Shelter and Harmony Church Paterson.

Since 2021, Primrose schools nationwide have donated more than 387,600 books to organizations promoting literacy.

The New Jersey contribution ensures hundreds of local children will have access to stories and educational materials they might not otherwise have.

The book drive is a recurring annual event held every March to celebrate the importance of early childhood literacy and community support.
