Temperatures were trending warmer than normal since before the sun rose above the horizon. The normal high for this time of year is 53 degrees and many locations started the day either at or above that number. Daytime highs across the Hudson Valley will be into the mid to upper 70s. The record high for the day is 82 (1998). And while that record is near, we likely won't break it. But that doesn't mean we can't enjoy a surge of warmth around today & tomorrow as well.

There will be a chance for spotty showers later today, as well as another chance overnight into Wednesday morning. The region will stay in an unsettled pattern through much of this week as a series of disturbances swing through the Northeast. During the midday hours, a possible shower or storm is around but most of the region will stay dry.

Wednesday afternoon, into the evening hours as well, will be a chance of isolated thunderstorms. Any storm that does come through has the chance of producing a brief & gusty downpour. Keep the umbrella handy for any Passover gatherings, as the holiday begins officially Wednesday night at sunset.

After Wednesday, April 1st, Mother Nature plays a joke on us by yanking away the warmth and bring us back to reality. That is because temperatures will go crashing down to cool levels for Thursday.
