21-year-old Brooklyn man indicted on ghost gun charges; confirmed 'explosive' found in his Gravesend co-op
Prosecutors said 21-year-old Martin Streich, of Gravesend, is accused of selling the illegal devices in Brooklyn and on Staten Island.
Investigators announced Tuesday that a Brooklyn man was arrested and indicted on 73 counts, after he allegedly manufactured and sold ghost guns and rapid-fire modification devices.
Prosecutors said 21-year-old Martin Streich, of Gravesend, is accused of selling the illegal devices in Brooklyn and on Staten Island.
This comes after the NYPD and Homeland Security Investigations JFK Task Force executed a search warrant last week at a co-op complex on West 2nd Street near Avenue Y.
NYPD Chief of Detective Joseph Kelly also confirmed that the bomb squad removed an explosive from Streich's co-op unit.
Staten Island District Attorney, Michael McMahon, said Strich is believed to have been acting alone and was interested in making a profit.
"We are ensuring that one of New York City's most notorious and prolific ghost gun traffickers will be held accountable for his deceptive, criminal actions," said McMahon.
Investigators said Streich is being held on $1 million dollars cash bail, $3 million partially secured bond, and $3 million insurance company bond.
