A new report lists the most expensive places to live in New York, and five of those are located in Westchester County.
GOBankingRates announced the top 20 most expensive places to live.
It looked at data, including the 2025 average home value, monthly mortgage payments and annual costs for things like groceries, utilities and transportation.
Those that made the list are Larchmont, Bronxville, Armonk, Pelham and Chappaqua.
Larchmont ranked No. 8. The average home value is $1.7 million, according to the website.
"Everyone wants that close proximity, and that's why I think long term it's always been a good investment here in Westchester,” said John Oliveria, a licensed real estate broker at Douglas Elliman.
According to Oliveria, the main clientele looking to move to Westchester are families wanting more space or people ready for a slower lifestyle.
"Essentially its quality of life that everyone's after,” explained Oliveria.
Bronxville ranked No. 11. According to GOBankingRates, the average home value is $1.6 million.
"It’s like an old country town, it’s a walkable town, people are friendly and you have nice mom and pop shops,” said Bronxville resident Larry Kemper, who has lived there for eight years.
Oliveria says with the close proximity to the city, Greenwich, Connecticut and between the Sound Shore and the Hudson River, there isn’t any land left. Which is what he thinks makes Westchester all that more attractive to potential buyers.
