A man is in guarded condition after a shooting in Mount Vernon early Wednesday morning.

Police responded to the zero block of Gramatan Avenue around 1 a.m., according to a city spokesman.

Officers say they found a 25-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Officials have not released details about a suspect or what led to the shooting.

Police are continuing to investigate.
