Hundreds of concerned residents showed up to a public forum Thursday about how to combat rising tensions across Rockland. 

More than 300 people from different communities across the county sat down in Montebello Thursday to discuss, and sometimes argue, issues like overdevelopment and social media tearing Rockland apart.

The event was organized by the town supervisors in the hope of bringing people together to discuss increasing tensions in Rockland following the Monsey stabbing attack on Hanukkah.

The large crowd was broken up into 15 groups to list the issues facing Rockland. Each breakout group was moderated by an individual from each of the five towns, chosen by the town supervisors.   

The supervisors say they will hold another public forum on April 30 using feedback they received this forum.
