A cement truck slammed into an Amtrak overpass in Westchester.

The incident happened on King’s Highway in New Rochelle Wednesday morning.

Officials say the truck was carrying tens of thousands of pounds of cement.

News 12 has been told a protector barrier above the road stopped the railway from being damaged.

Crews described what they had to do to remove the truck from the scene:

"What we did was we held it up, let the other wrecker pull it back, and then set it down back into the stanchion, so it didn't roll back over because it's got 8 yards of concrete. The hard part was making sure that it, It didn't roll when we were coming out of the bridge."

The driver was not hurt.

Amtrak officials inspected the tracks, then reopened the Northeastern Corridor line.
