A hit-and-run Monday afternoon in Poughkeepsie left a woman seriously injured, according to authorities.

Police say the two-car crash occurred on State Route 9. A woman driving a Honda Accord was trying to merge when she was hit by an Acura changing lanes.

The Honda went off the road and hit a tree. The driver of the Acura then left the scene of the accident.

First responders took the woman to a hospital.
