The 10th annual Peekskill Film Festival was held this weekend at the Paramount Hudson Valley Theatre in downtown Peekskill.
The event featured more than 50 films, including several world premieres.
Organizers say the festival is focused on diversity in cinema and giving a platform to underrepresented voices.
“The Peekskill Film Festival exists, and why it's important is because we give a stage for voices that need to be heard, locally and globally,” said Christopher Fox, programming director. “We like to focus on local filmmakers in the Hudson Valley and give them a beautiful venue at the Paramount Peekskill in the Hudson Valley to show their films.”
A portion of the festival’s proceeds went to support the cultural programming of the Field Library.
