Chef Giovanni, of Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace, shows News 12's Lily Stolzberg how to make French Onion Dip.
INGREDIENTS:
1 ea. White Onion (Small Dice)
1 ea. Red Onion (Small Dice)
3 tbs Butter
¼ cup Chopped Dried Onions
2 tbs Granulated Onion
2 tbs Granulated Garlic
½ tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp Salt
½ Sugar
¼ cup Red Wine Vinegar
1 qt Sour Cream
2 ea. Scallions (Thinly Sliced)
Directions:
1. In a sauté pan on high heat add the butter and allow it to melt and come to temperature.
2. Once the butter is hot, add the white and red onions.
3. Sauté until deep color is formed.
4. Place the sautéed onions into a mixing bowl, spread out, and allow it to cool completely.
5. Next place the chopped dried onion, granulated onion, granulated garlic, sugar, salt, black pepper, and red wine vinegar into the mixing bowl and mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
6. Next, add the sour cream and whisk until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
7. Place the scallions into the mixing bowl and mix.
