The scammer poses as a law enforcement official and contacts the victim, informing them that they have missed jury duty.

The suspect then demands payment, threatening the victim with a summons if they fail to comply. Additionally, the scammer may email the victim a fake jury duty summons.

White Plains Public Safety emphasizes that legitimate law enforcement officials do not call individuals to demand money. If you receive a phone call resembling this scam, it is advised to contact your local police department immediately.
