A deadly police-involved shooting in Deerpark is coming into clearer focus with the release of new body camera footage.
The incident happened in April on Forrest Drive, where police responded to a reported domestic incident.
Officials said a woman came outside pointing what appeared to be a handgun at responding officers.
Officers can be heard telling her to drop the weapon before shots were fired.
The woman, identified as 69-year-old Nancy Loftus, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police said a pellet gun was recovered from the scene.
The two troopers involved were placed on voluntary leave. The New York Attorney General's Office says the investigation is ongoing.
