Polls are just hours away from closing - and people are taking advantage to cast their vote.
So far, the New York City Board of Elections estimates more than 261,000 Brooklyn residents have checked in to vote.
News 12 spoke with voters in Williamsburg, like Paco Lozano, who says he’s seen many older people who are very impacted by the heat still coming out to vote - and it’s been inspiring to see.
"To see people are way more impacted by the heat than me going to cast their vote today is really moving. This 101 degree weather I think has inspired me and a lot of New Yorkers,” said Lozano.
The polls close at 9 p.m.
