Cooler temperatures on the way to the Hudson Valley
After officially having a heat wave in the region, temperatures cool down drastically starting Thursday. There will also be rain chances.

After temperatures hit 90 degrees for the third day in a row, it is official, the Hudson Valley has its first heat wave of the season!
HEAT WAVE ENDS:
- Temperatures continued to climb into the mid 90s in the afternoon hours, topping out at 95 degrees (as of 4 p.m.), setting yet another record-breaking high temp. This is the third day in a row of record-breaking heat for the region.
- Not only have temperatures been breaking records, but they have also been making us feel like we're in an oven. Feels-like temps have been into the 100-111 degree range through this work week. But finally, things will be changing!
WHAT'S NEXT:
- Behind a cold front passing by Thursday morning, temperatures will drop about 15-20 degrees across the entire region. Temperatures will top out in the 70s for many locations Thursday afternoon. There will also be a few spotty-to-scattered shower chances popping up - one round during the morning rush and another in the afternoon hours.
- Temperatures will continue to be below the average high of 81 degrees for Friday and Saturday, with Friday being the coolest day of this week. There will be isolated shower chances for Friday, but most locations will get a mostly cloudy skies.
- Saturday has more widespread shower activity coming around through the day. The rain potential will fade overnight Saturday into Sunday, where there will be a mostly cloudy skies to follow.
- Temperatures will go back into the low 80s. The humidity levels will also be climbing from Sunday into Monday, where it will tend to feel rather sticky.

SATURDAY: Weather To Watch - Mostly cloudy with a chance for showers. Highs: upper 70s. Lows: mid to upper 60s.
SUNDAY: Mix of sun and clouds to mostly cloudy. Highs: low 80s. Lows: upper 60s.
MONDAY: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs: mid-80s. Lows: upper 60s to low 70s.
TUESDAY: JULY 1ST - Partly cloudy with a chance for showers and scattered thunderstorms. Highs: upper 80s. Lows: upper 60s.
