News 12's "Pothole Patrol" checked out conditions in Mount Vernon.
Potholes are becoming a pain for some people in Mount Vernon.
"It's just got to be taken care of," says resident Dennis Belnavis.
"They need to get worked on. The city could do a little better job with them," says resident Dvante Morris.
Driver Jarrett Partlow says the bumps in road are also putting a dent in his wallet.
"Especially after the snow, it's kind of like indescribable, it is really damaging," Partlow says.
Partlow's car is in the shop at H & S Transmission on Wednesday partly because of a pothole.
"The money that I could be saving on potholes, I would probably just have to give to EZPass. Driving in New York is dangerous at this point," Partlow says.
Mechanics at the East Third Street shop say they've already fixed about 15 cars this season with pothole damage.
Mount Vernon officials say the problem isn't unique to the city and crews are working to fix any damage caused by the winter weather.
In the meantime, Belnavis is calling for patience.
"It can't be done overnight...So, we bear with them and all that," Belnavis says.
