Former NYPD officer from Elmsford indicted in fatal DWI crash

The State Attorney General says Kevin Richmond was off duty and drunk when he struck and killed motorcyclist Nidia Nieves on I-87 in Cornwall.

A former NYPD officer from Elmsford has been indicted for manslaughter in a fatal 2023 DWI crash.

The State Attorney General says Kevin Richmond was off duty and drunk when he struck motorcyclist Nidia Nieves on I-87 in Cornwall.

Nieves was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene, according to authorities.

Richmond was arraigned on Friday. He could face up to seven years in prison if convicted.
