A woman is facing felony assault charges for a domestic incident that ended with a stabbing in New Rochelle, according to authorities.

Police say 28-year-old Ijahnee Simmons stabbed the 31-year-old victim during an altercation on Wednesday morning.

Officers responding to the scene found the man with a wound to his leg inside the lobby of an apartment building on Church Street.

Simmons was taken into police custody at the scene, according to officials.

Authorities say the victim was hospitalized and treated after experiencing significant blood loss.
