An arrest has been made in the hot car death of a 2-year-old foster child in Monticello, according to state police.
Officials say 33-year-old Sarah Carter has been charged with criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.
The toddler, Antonio Ware, was found dead last month outside of the Sleepy Hollow Apartment Complex on Terri Lane.
Officials now say the child, who was in the custody of Sullivan County Child Protective Services, was left in the hot car for more than four hours.
Carter’s relationship to the child is currently not known. She was arraigned Thursday afternoon in Village of Monticello court and remanded to Sullivan county jail on $50,000 bail.
