Police arrested a man in Blauvelt Friday morning after they say he tried to steal an inflatable snowman from a family's lawn.
Police say video footage caught Jeffrey Meyers, of Walden, unplugging the snowman. They say they caught him running across the lawn to his car.
Meyers is facing a slew of charges for his alleged act including petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and trespassing.
Homeowner Scott Silva says he's happy the police were on the scene and he didn't have to chase after him early in the morning.
"My family are happy that the snowman is back. Everything is right with the world again," said Silva.
