State police say Department of Corrections officials at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility reported a sexual assault in September.
The investigation found 54-year-old Michael Adeleke from Waterbury, Connecticut, allegedly raped an inmate.
Adeleke made his first appearance in the town of Bedford court and was released until his next court appearance in two weeks.
