Police say the moment a man hit an officer with his car was captured on body-camera video during an early morning encounter on Nepperhan Avenue in Yonkers on Monday
Officers were checking on a parked vehicle where the driver appeared to be sleeping when the man suddenly accelerated, pinning an officer's leg between his car and a patrol vehicle.
The driver was later stopped in New Rochelle and identified as 24-year-old Edward Arias.
The officer is expected to make a full recovery.
