The Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced changes Tuesday for the No. 5 express train in the Bronx, which will effect service until November.
For the next three months, there will be no northbound service on the 5 express train between the 3rd Avenue-East 149th Street and East 180th Street stops. During rush hour, four northbound trains that normally stop at Nereid Avenue will instead stop at 180th Street, which means many commuters will have to transfer trains.
The changes, which straphangers say will add time onto their commutes and cause crowding, will last until Nov. 13.
