A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Saturday afternoon in Pleasant Valley, according to state police.

Authorities say William G. Coulston was traveling westbound on Salt Point Turnpike around 2:45 p.m. when he crossed the double yellow line and struck a vehicle head-on.

The 59-year-old was pronounced dead at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital. The occupants of the vehicle were uninjured.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
