A batch of mosquitoes tested positive for West Nile virus in New Rochelle.

No human cases of the disease have been reported. Westchester County Health Inspector John Ruggerio is tracking and trapping more mosquitoes to test for West Nile. Ruggerio says tracking and trapping lets them know where the mosquitoes are acquiring West Nile and where the virus can be found within the county.

Ten locations for tracking and trapping have been set up in the county.

The Westchester County Health Department says despite some mosquitoes testing positive for West Nile, there is no need to panic. Residents are advised to use insect repellant and to remove standing water from their property, as that's where mosquitoes breed.
