The Guidance Center of Westchester launched a new program that focuses on early development.
The center, which has been around for nearly 80 years, aims to reduce the stigma of therapy. During mental health awareness month, they’ve introduced a new program that is geared towards helping children ages 2 to 5.
Claudia Morales, a clinician at the center, says the need for therapy for children is as strong as ever due the changes and loss brought by the pandemic.
“Feeling like their missing out of school, missing their friends. The parent may be transitioning back to work due to the pandemic…that’s another change in a child’s life, says Morales.
The Guidance Center of Westchester is available to all parents in the county and accepts most insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid.
