Many upperclassmen at Spring Valley High School learned about the dangers of being behind the wheel distracted or impaired.
The school's gym served as place where they experienced the importance of driving safe firsthand on Wednesday and Thursday.
It was the first time the "Save A Life Tour" a national driving awareness program, visited the school.
The same program stopped at Ramapo High School last school year.
Seniors and some juniors took a seat in simulators as they drove and had to respond to text messages or wore goggles that mimicked being impaired.
News 12 is told that the demonstration was also held at this point in the school year to act as a lesson ahead of prom.
Ultimately, students signed a pledge to not drive impaired or distracted.
