Community rallies to keep killer of Maybrook boy behind bars

Juan Miguel Peinado was denied parole in 2021 for the death of 12-year-old Danny Meyer.

A petition is going around one Hudson Valley community to keep a man convicted of killing a Maybrook boy in 1996 behind bars.        
Juan Miguel Peinado was denied parole in 2021 for the death of 12-year-old Danny Meyer.

Danny was murdered by Peinado while the boy was on his way to an all-star baseball game in the Village of Maybrook.           
Right now, state law allows murderers to have a parole hearing every two years.           
Peinado's next hearing is scheduled for August.          
Assemblyman Brian Maher started a petition to keep Danny's killer behind bars.
