Questions swirl in case of social media star killed in Cross County Parkway shooting

News 12 reported that she was found last Sunday in Mount Vernon dead behind the wheel of a car on the eastbound shoulder near Broad Street on the Cross County Parkway.

In Inwood, friends, family, and social media followers of Ariela Mejia-Polanco have continued to lay flowers and light candles next door to a former nightclub where she worked.
News 12 reported that she was found last Sunday in Mount Vernon dead behind the wheel of a car on the eastbound shoulder near Broad Street on the Cross County Parkway. The Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office have confirmed she died from gunshots wound and was likely targeted.
On Instagram, Mejia-Polanco had 572,000+ followers. She was also featured in Rapper Tekashi 6ix 9ine's music video "Wapae" – which has over 32 million views on YouTube. News 12 also learned she was a mother.
News 12 contacted Westchester County police for an update in the case but have not heard back.
