The Continental Village Fire Department celebrated “Community Day” on Saturday – celebrating 75 years of operation with food trucks, live music and fun activities in the sun.
Family and friends came out to show support for the local fire department during the day that was planned by volunteer firefighters for two months. The CVFD said the turnout was amazing, and that the event was successful.
"I think we definitely hit our goals...got a lot of magazines handed out and hopefully handed out some applications as well." says Chief Joseph Maffettone.
The CVFD said it was important to remind the neighborhood that the station always has an open door.
"It's nice to just be able to take a step back and just relax with everyone," Capt. Justin Loja.
The CVFD plans to continue hosting events throughout the end of the year.
