Eastchester celebrated the nation’s 250th anniversary Saturday with a parade and community celebration.
The parade featured marching bands, veterans, local organizations and participants who came together for a day of celebration and national pride.
“Today is part of the continuing celebration of this great nation’s 250th anniversary,” said Eastchester Town Supervisor Anthony Colavita.
Attendees said the parade reflected the strong sense of tradition and community that has made the event a local favorite.
“This is why we live in Eastchester. It’s one of the best towns in Westchester County,” said resident Robby Collignon.
Following the parade, the celebration continued at Lake Isle Country Club with a community barbecue that featured live music, food and a reading of the Declaration of Independence.
“It’s great to see so many people coming out, not only in the parade, but here at the barbecue,” said Eastchester Superintendent of Parks and Recreation Sally Veltidi.
