A man is dead and another one was injured after a double shooting in Wakefield early Saturday morning, according to detectives.
Police say they responded to the scene just before 5 a.m. at G&S Restaurant and Lounge where a 38-year-old and 28-year-old man were shot.
Officers found a 38-year-old man with multiple wounds. He had a gunshot to his chest, left arm and left leg. He was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital.
Police also found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his chest.
He was taken to Montefiore Hospital and later taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi where he was pronounced dead.
A barricade and police tape blocked the entrance to G&S Restaurant. Residents say they feel uneasy with the growing gun violence in the area.
"I have to go to work early in the morning and you come across police tape, and you hear gunshots in the neighborhood. It's not a good thing. It's very scary," said Marion, a neighbor.
A recent shooting just steps from the restaurant happened on Monday March 2 at 708 Nereid Ave.
"I don't like it, I don't like it. I don't feel safe," said another neighbor, Abdul.
An unrelated arrest was made at the scene when investigators say a person assaulted officers.
No arrests been made for the shooting as of Saturday night..
