Three schools in Yonkers have been taken off the state's list of struggling schools.
After examining test scores and graduation rates, the state found that students from three at-risk schools -- Roosevelt High School, the Robert Dodson School and Enrico Fermi School -- are making progress. They are now considered in good standing.
School leaders say they attribute the improvement to hard work and attention.
Some schools still under the state's radar include Museum School 25, Cross Hill Academy and Martin Luther King Jr. School. All three remain on the state's struggling list. District officials say those schools will continue to receive the attention they need.
Had Roosevelt High School remained on the list, the state could have taken over operations.
