Canine crime fighter retires after years of service

Westchester County Probation Department bids farewell to Harley, an electronic storage detection canine, and his handler, Detective Brett Hochron.
The duo, who retired together, joined the department in 2017 and worked on a variety of investigations. They assisted not only the Westchester County Police Department, but also the FBI, County Probation and Correction departments, and numerous other federal, state and local agencies.
Harley's talents proved invaluable in uncovering evidence during search warrant executions, and investigations spanning various crimes, including financial fraud, child pornography, organized crime, gang activity and counter-terrorism.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer expressed gratitude for their service, noting that the department will be receiving its own detection canine in recognition of Harley's legacy.
