A 7-year-old armed invasion has been thrust into the forefront of a murder investigation in Rye Brook, investigators say.
Police say Ben Novack Jr., the Florida man who was found dead Sunday at the Rye Town Hilton, was robbed, beaten and left tied to an arm chair in his Fort Lauderdale mansion in 2002.
A police official in Florida who was a close friend of Novack says Narcy Novack, the slain man's wife, admitted to setting up the attack.
"He told me she had set the whole thing up," says James Scarberry, former police chief of Hollywood, Fla.
