Police are investigating the sudden death of a Yonkers baby Monday.
Police said they received a call at 10:50 a.m. from the panicked parents, who said their child wasn't breathing. Paramedics rushed to the apartment in a private home, where they found the boy.
The baby, who was between 6 and 12 months old, was taken to St. John's Riverside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Westchester County employees were at the house, but officials would not confirm whether they were from the Department of Social Services. Investigators are awaiting results from the medical examiner.
The couple's landlord, Nicola Monaco, believes foul play isn't to blame. "We were here painting and every day I saw her taking the baby with a carriage," he said. "Personally, I think some accident must have happened. They seem to be very nice."
The couple has another child. The family had recently moved into the home.
