A 6-year-old girl in Ossining is working to make sure every kid in the hospital gets a toy this holiday.

Stella Fosgate doesn't take holiday magic for granted because two years ago, her life was saved by a Christmas miracle.

"Out of nowhere one day, we just kind of realized her legs weren't working," says her parents, Jill Frankenfield and Jamie Fosgate.

To this day, they still don't know exactly what caused her condition - a sort of virus, they believe.

While in the hospital through the holidays, toys were more than just material joys for Stella.

"It really helped take her mind off of what was going on and the pain that she was in," says Fosgate.

And at just 4 years old she noticed that it wasn't the same reality for kids in hospital beds next to her.

"I'm very sad because all those kids didn't get toys and what I got," she says.

Stella's legs work perfectly now, and now she's been running an annual mission - shopping, collecting and delivering gifts.

On Sunday, hundreds of toys arrived at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in Valhalla and the Yonkers-based nonprofit, WestHab.
