It's a breezy and chilly afternoon. Wind gusts are occasionally reaching 30 mph and temperatures feel like the 40s right now. Temperatures will drop below freezing by midnight.
CHILLY WEATHER AHEAD
Temperatures today will hit the 50s mix of sun and clouds, however a strong breeze arrives this evening and it will feel much colder so grab a jacket for any late afternoon or evening plans.
Tonight a widespread freeze is expected with lows near 30-degrees. Nassau county is under a Freeze Watch because it is now past the average last freeze date. Suffolk county's average last freeze is not until next week so there will not be advisories issued alerting of the freeze there.
Wednesday is sunny and cold with highs in the 40s. Another freeze is possible Wednesday night.
LATE-WEEK WARM-UP
High temperatures in the 60s to near 70 degrees again are in sight later this week and into next week! The warm-up will be noticeable on Friday with highs around 60 degrees. Saturday will be the warmest day this week with highs in the mid-60s across much of Long Island. Highs will range from near 60 degrees to near 70 degrees Sunday through Wednesday next week, before temperatures likely cool down into the 50s for next Thursday.

This will continue to be a bad week for seasonal allergies. With mostly dry and breezy weather at times and as we get more into the growing season, tree pollen will be very high.
