The Westport Little League dedicated a game of baseball Saturday afternoon to a teammate who passed away in a car accident.
10-year-old Perrin Delorey passed away in a car accident coming home from the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown on Monday.
Delorey's Little League coach and friends say there's no better way of celebrating his life than with a ball game.
The game started with a ceremony, where his family received several gifts.
The main honor was the official retirement of the number five by the Cubs, Delorey's team. Coach Jeffrey Brill says the number will never be worn again by any Cubs teammate in the Westport Little League.
The Cubs won two games.
