Westchester County is turning to fish to battle the Zika virus.
The Health Department is giving away free minnows to county residents in an effort to keep people safe from mosquitoes.
The minnows can be released into homeowners' ponds or unused pools and will feed on mosquito larvae.
Health officials say the mosquito-borne Zika virus can cause a number of problems in humans, particularly pregnant women.
Westchester has already seen two cases of the virus from people who traveled outside the country.
Authorities say they don't expect an outbreak of Zika, but they are not taking any chances and hope the hungry fish may save a life.
The free minnow giveaway program will continue at the Westchester County Airport through Saturday, May 21.
