West Point superintendent: Asking for help is ‘sign of strength’
The superintendent of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point released a statement Saturday morning on the passing of Cadet Kade Kurita.
Lieutenant General Darryl A. Williams wrote that "asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness."
He goes on to say, “My guidance to our staff, faculty and coaches remains the same: If a cadet or colleague asks for help, your day stops and focus shifts to support them."
Cadet Kurita is also being remembered for his passion of film by actor Stephen Lang. In a statement to News 12, Lang wrote in part, “I am so sorry to learn the tragic news concerning Kade Kurita. My heart goes out to his family and friends, and to the entire Corps at USMA."
