A warning has been issued about a fake social media post that is circulating nationwide and has now appeared on accounts in Putnam County.
The post advises people to be aware of a serial killer who is on the loose, and includes a picture of a wanted person, as well as the name of the suspect and a victim's name.
However, the Putnam sheriff says that the post is bogus. If you share such a Facebook post, you or your family may run the risk of falling victim to a scam.
