A pedestrian was killed Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle on Warburton Avenue in Yonkers.

Police say the incident happened around 8:30 p.m., and witnesses reported the victim may have been lying in the middle of the road.

The driver did not stop after hitting the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Yonkers police say they located the suspected vehicle last night and detained a person of interest.

Detectives interviewed several witnesses and the alleged driver, and some witnesses believe the incident may have been a suicide.

No charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
