correctional facility officer is recovering after being attacked by an
inmate.
The incident escalated after an argument between the
inmate and officer while he conducted an inmate count.
When the officer ordered the
inmate back into his cell, the inmate immediately struck the officer and pulled
him into his cell.
The inmate hit the officer
multiple times, and assistance was required to force him to the ground.
The inmate is currently
serving a 15-year sentence for shooting a 3-year-old in the Bronx.
