Residents of North Rockland are voting on a proposed renovation project for the high school utilizing $17 million from the district's existing capital reserve fund.

The initiative encompasses various upgrades across the campus with no additional financial burden on taxpayers.

Included in the proposed renovation are enhancements to the softball and baseball fields, addition of a field hockey field, expanded parking space, HVAC system upgrades, as well as refurbishments to classrooms, the library, and cafeterias. Should the referendum receive approval, construction is anticipated to commence in the spring, with an estimated two-year duration to complete the renovations.

Voting centers are open until 9 p.m. at Haverstraw Elementary, North Rockland High School Extension and James Farley Elementary.

Residents seeking further details regarding the referendum can access more information on the school district's official website.
