Dion Michael Ashman is challenging incumbent Councilwoman Crystal Hudson to represent District 35.

Ever since Hudson's mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, she says she's been dedicated to serving aging New Yorkers and making sure other families have access to help.

Ashman said his work in his community started decades ago when he was growing up in Crown Heights. He says he wants to see housing actually be affordable, for jobs to be available and for crime to be reduced.
