New York State Police say a driver was killed in a wrong-way crash early Saturday morning on I-87 in Rockland County.

State troopers say Brian Tortora was heading north on the southbound lanes when he crashed into a towing truck near Exit 12 at 3 a.m.

Police say Tortora then crashed into another tractor-trailer, which caused the two trucks to hit each other.

Tortora was pronounced dead at the scene.

One truck driver was treated at the hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.

State police say the other truck driver was not hurt.

Nyack Mayor Joseph Rand shared a photo of the incident on his Facebook page.

The thruway was closed for several hours following the crash. It has since been reopened.
