Volunteers gathered at the Palisade Towers in Yonkers on Friday to give out food and water to the residents who don’t have gas or hot water.
Mayor Mike Spano says that the leak originally went from one building to three – and now all eight buildings in the complex are impacted.
The Yonkers Municipal Housing Authority says that a timeline for when the gas will return is still up in the air.
The Yonkers City Council will be back at the towers Friday night to give out pizza to those who live there.
St. Joseph’s Hospital also donated $10,000 to the cause.
