Ulster County is following Dutchess County in a plan to cut sales tax on gas.
Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan proposed cutting the gas tax by 50%. This would cap the sales tax on each gallon at 8 cents.
If adopted by the Ulster County Legislature next month, the law would take effect June 1 and expire Dec. 1.
