So as we go throughout these next crucial hours this morning, try not to travel if you absolutely have to really slow down for more on the street level conditions of what's going on where you are might be heading throughout the morning. Here's news twelve's Lisa Lara in Thunderbolt 12, driving along the Sawmill River Parkway, Lisa. How are conditions where you've been driving so far? Uh Pretty bad. Uh You know, we were doing this last Monday if you remember and we were saying, oh, you know, it's not that not that awful out this morning is a whole different story. I'm starting it right now on uh on the camera you can see from the rooftop and let me show you what it looks like from Danny's vantage point as well. That's, uh that's how he's looking as he's driving through. Uh I'll tell you what the drive in this morning really rough. We're on the sawmill. Lots of ponding. I would not be surprised at all. I can pretty much predict they're going to end up shutting this down and just a heads up. We haven't actually had just a few minutes ago in between exits nine and exits 11 on the northbound side of the sawmill. And again, you don't see it until you're right on top of it. There's chunks of tree or limbs that are down on the root. You see all the debris here. This is going to be a big problem in addition to all of the pond. I mean, look at how it's just kicking up as I was coming down the sawmill on the southbound side and I had to slow down to probably about five miles an hour just to get through because it's pretty, pretty, you have some, some potting that's really, really deep again. Look at this, you see what you see right here on the road, that's what's all over the place because of these high winds. So, uh, you know, guys, if you could work from home today, I would say go for it or if you can delay your start until at least it gets light out. So you can see things better. I would highly recommend that let me get the windshield wiper going again and you can see there's, uh, we saw some earlier there, there are police, you know, blocking areas, so don't be surprised again, sawmill. I can definitely see it getting closed. We'll check out all the other areas again, but please, please be careful as you make your way around. We'll be out here all morning, we'll keep you updated. For some of those street level conditions along 87. Right now, we turn to News twelve's Lisa. Lara live in Thunderbolt 12 with the latest on conditions there, Lisa, how have things been going as you've been driving around so far this morning? Well, you know, it's, it's slow going and that's what you kind of need to do. I mean, you can see from outside actually, at this particular moment it's not coming down as hard as it was a little bit earlier. But, you know, the damage has already been done and you can see it's just really slick roads, there's debris everywhere. I mean, we were on the sawmill a little earlier. This is better. You know, of course, the sawmill, it's just lined with trees. So that's the problem. But there debris everywhere with leaves and even what's more dangerous too is that they have tree branches down and you can't see, of course, because the lighting is terrible. So you don't know until you're right on top of it. So, again, I would not be surprised if we see parts of the sawmill shut down at some point. You have deep, deep puddles there so you just have to really take it slow. I mean, when I was driving in this morning, I'm watching as the rain is coming down and the wind is blowing it. So it's coming down at sort of an angle, a sideways angle. So that's never good. That always makes it different, so difficult. So again, you know, Matt just said, I said a little earlier if you can delay your start and not leave until at least it gets light out. So you can kind of see where you're going, do that or even, you know what, if you work from home, just do it because I, I wouldn't be surprised if we see some accidents today as well. It's just, uh, just a nasty sloppy mess. And again, there's some treacherous areas to the roadways. So, uh, just give yourself some extra time. That's let me just show you what it looks like from Danny's point of view real quick too. There again, not coming down all that bad, but, uh, we've seen it up and down. So again, please be careful as you head out today, we'll continue to drive around and tell you what we're seeing. Let's go back to the studio.

Over towards around Dobbs ferry as well. But there's still lots of ponding some debris around from this storm. And that's why we wanna show you those street level conditions and we turn to news twelve's Lisa Laak live driving around in Thunderbolt 12. Our great weather resource on the go to show you some of those street conditions in Dobbs ferry along the Saw Mill, Lisa, how have conditions really changed or not changed as you've been driving around so far throughout Westchester County this morning? We, well, I'll tell you what Matt, we're just right at this particular moment. It's not raining all that hard, uh, barely coming down, but just take a look. You see, we got, uh a closure here on the sawmill that we wanted to show you. So you see police are here, uh, and they blocked off. We're right by do ferry right where the, the shopping center is, you know, Starbucks and all that that all closed off. So we're gonna head, let's go turn, we're gonna go on the southbound side and again, sawmills been been rough going. Uh Again, let me kind of show you what it looks like with the, you know, part of the problem is not just the ponding, which is always an issue with the sawmill, but on top of it, of course, it's all tree lined. So we've seen a lot of debris, a lot of, you know, branches and leaves and that can be very, very dangerous wind kind of whipping up right now. How dark it is, you know, you can't see anything so you don't know. And look right there, you see all that debris that can be very slippery. I mean, if you're going at a decent clip, you hit that, you hit the ponding, like right there. Next thing you know, you're hydroplaning, you're spinning. So you have to like the way you would when you are out in the snow again, just be very careful. These are the big problems that we're seeing as we drive around.

Doppler radar shows the moderates of heavy rain. So all throughout the lower Hudson Valley, a heavier downpour in the Ramapo area right now, same towards Highlands and Phillipstown and also west into the Mount Hope in Middletown area. All of these areas really all throughout the lower Hudson Valley. We have areas of sky outer ponding to watch out for as well and still a couple of more hours through about eight o'clock this morning that we have to get through before conditions start to improve for the rest of the morning. But we want to help get you out and about and all around the Hudson Valley this morning. For more on those street level conditions, we turn to news twelve's Lisa Lara live in Thunderbolt 12 this morning, Lisa, you've been seeing some ponding some closures and I think you might have another one here where you are right now, right? Yeah, we have a closure. We're right on the saw mill just before exit 20 you can see all the cones. We just kind of wanted to show you, you see the flashing lights. They have, this is the northbound side of the saw mill shut down and back farther earlier, we were showing you some shutdowns, look at all the debris and there are trees down that we saw up earlier. So we're getting off at exit 20 which takes us to 87 and then to uh 287 if you want to go that way. So that's what we're going to do. But, uh again, I would say sawmill and I'm not surprised. I mean, my drive in earlier this morning there was so as I was driving in, I said, we're definitely going to see closures on this. So I'm curious to see how the Bronx river is doing as well. That also usually when the sawmill gets like this, you can pretty much bet that the, that the Bronx river is going to have problems as well. Let's get that wiper going here on our outdoor uh cam there. So let me show you what it looks like from Danny's point of view just so you can get an idea of what it looks like when you're driving, that's from the, from the driver's way. And uh again, it's just a really slow ride right now. Rain coming down at a good clip. It's kind of been on and off. But then when it comes down, you have the wind whipping up as well. And then again, the big problem I think is not just the ponding, but there's a lot of debris out on the road from these winds whipping in. And of course, you have, you know, on our parkways, the sawmill in the Bronx River, so many trees. So things you really, really have to be careful about. So we're going to keep driving around. We'll let you know what we're seeing in this area.

We wanna shift over and see some street level conditions for more on that. Here's news, twelve's Lisa Laak driving around in the, the White Plains area with conditions there, Lisa rough go this morning. I it really is Matt. I'll tell you folks they are having a rough time and just as I suspected, uh we wanted to take a ride to the Bronx River Parkway, the usual spot right by the County Center. And as you can see, we're coming up up here, it is shut down. So if you're coming to coming uh south on the Bronx River Parkway, you're gonna, you'll have to get uh put off like we are right here and it will direct you back on to uh into White Plains exit 21. So no surprise. And I think maybe we'll pull into the parking lot and see what we can see. But you that spot under main street down there just a little bit ahead where the bridge is right by the train station. And now we're just kind of at a red light, but that spot is always, always, let's see if I can zoom in just a little bit and see what we can see down there. Uh And that's where it's always uh flooded. So, uh, not sure. Let's see. I'm not seeing any cars go by on the uh on the northbound side. So it, it is very possible that it's closed down there as well, but I can, you can see the ponding there. So, uh, unfortunately, again, on the sawmill, we were on the saw mill, there was a lot of closures there as well and this is what we suspected. Like I said, we've seen a lot of debris, a lot of ponding, at least it's starting to get light out. And here take a look. Uh, you can see. Yep. Look at that. That's usually what it looks like. Right, right here. Wow. Look at that. So you got a lot of, look at the way that's flooded down there. So stay away from the Bar Parkway. No surprise. That is, uh, it's flooded right by the train station. So they have it closed off once you get a little past County Center and my guess is on the northbound side, it's also closed down farther down. Usually that happens down around Scarsdale. So we want to check and see what's happening over the bridge in Rockland County. That is where Emily Young is. Emily. What do you have for?

Storm wraps up through mid-morning some brighter skies on the way for the afternoon just to flurry around overnight tonight with temperatures in the thirties. But until we get to the better weather still dealing with the nasty conditions right now. So for more on those street level conditions, we turn to news twelve's Lisa Laak outside of Thunderbolt 12 in the White Plains area along the Bronx River Parkway with some big issues there, Lisa. Good morning. Oh, yeah, big issues. Good morning to you, Matt. Good morning, everyone. I'm going to step right out of the way so Danny can show you and it is calm down pretty hard right now. Just take a look at the summer. I mean, wow, that is uh look at the guard rail is underwater at this point. So you have both sides of or excuse me, the Bronx river rather uh both sides are shut down. This is right by the train station, usual main street. It's just been coming down so much and no surprise that we're at this point, especially as we were driving on the sawmill throughout the morning, we saw all the debris and a lot of ponding there usually when that happens, you can pretty much expect it's going to be like this as well. So, like I said, I've been saying all morning, listen, if you can hold off before going in or just stay home and work from home today and just avoid all the traffic headaches because you're going to be redirected pretty much everywhere you go. And that's because this is what we're seeing as Matt was saying, you know, it's the wind, it's knocked down trees, you have debris branches in the road. It's just really a treacherous drive. It's dangerous if you absolutely and not work from home like us and you have to make your way into work. Just take it slow, give yourself plenty of extra time. Just know there's going to be a lot of detours. So, uh, you know, not much you can do about it when you got this kind of thing going on. So we'll continue to stay out. We'll let you know what's going on. Let's check in with Emily Young. She's over in Rockland County across the bridge. And what do you got there?

White Plains area where we know we have some flooding around and we know we have it, we want to show it to you and help you avoid these kind of areas. And so for more on that, here's news, twelve's Lisa Lara in White Plains along the Bronx River Parkway where there is some major flooding happening that is going on right now, Lisa. And my concern is that even over the next hour or so as the rain intensity starts to back off, we're still going to have this lingering for a while. Yeah, I mean, holy cow just take, just take a look at this Matt. I mean, this is uh the Bronx River Parkway right by the White Plains train station Main street. Just take a look and this is, it's going to be a while before they can get this down. I mean, the guard rail is underwater, look at and Danny, if you can just kind of like zoom in over there to the other side, do you see how it's like the river is so high up? It's actually you can't even tell where that concrete barrier is. It's just all coming across now floating everywhere. This is about, I don't think I've seen it this bad in quite some time and this is a spot that usually gets closed off and they'll send the DPW guys over to kind of go, you know, clear some of the debris. And I'm guessing that's a big problem because all morning long we were driving on the sawmill, driving all over. We saw a lot of debris, we saw branches and trees so that coupled with these heavy rains, just a recipe for disaster. We, there were closures on the sawmill as well as here on the Bronx River. Usually when this happens, it's closed from here in White Plains down to Scarsdale could be even further down than that. So sawmill, Bronx River Park areas you definitely want to stay away from. I'm telling you guys if you can work from home today, do it because you'll be uh you'll be detoured all over the place trying to get around and this is, this is pretty bad. So we want to see how things are going in Rockland County. That's where Emily Young is in Congress. I believe. How's it looking there?

Yeah. Well, this is a little more than ponding actually, Matt. You know, this is, uh, this is really bad. Yeah, Danny Pan over to the Danny and I are, are mesmerized by this ball that has been floating by among other things that are floating here on the Bronx River Parkway. So we're right by County Center, White Plains train station. And, uh, you know, it, it's pretty deep. I mean, I'm, I'm going out of as far as I can and then it's gonna start going into my boots pretty soon. Danny, if you can kind of just let's show everybody what it looks like down that way. I mean, look at that, the guard rail completely underwater. It's coming over the side too of the, uh, of the concrete barrier as well. So this is about as bad as I've seen the Bronx River in this section in this section always gets flooded when we get some heavy rains. But I don't, can't remember the last time I've seen it this bad and it has gotten like this before, but it's definitely been a while. So you have the Bronx River Parkway shut down in both directions. From here in White Plains. I would venture to guess down to Scarsdale, maybe even farther down. That's usually where they close it off. We were driving around the sawmill when the Bronx like this sawmill too. And there were plenty of closures over there as well. So just know if you're out driving around, there's going to be a lot of, a lot of detours for you to try to get around and get to where you're going. So, uh, wondering if things are like this in Rockland County? So that's where Emily Young is in Congress. Emily. How bad is it where you are?

For more of those visuals. Let's head to news. Twelve's Lisa Lara with thunderbolt 12 along the Bronx River Parkway in the White Plains area where just conditions there have been awful with the flooding, Lisa. Absolutely awful. Matt. And you know, we haven't seen any rain now for a good 45 minutes, which is good. But I mean, take a look at this, you got both sides of the Bronx River Parkway closed and it's actually, like you said, it's the residual, you know, now you've got all that backwater coming down. I mean, look at the Bronx River over there on the other side coming underneath over here. And then when Danny pans down a little farther, you can see it's going over the top of the concrete barriers and then here the guard rail just completely disappears altogether. And I have to say we've been here a bunch of times, you know, over the last year, let's say when we've had rains and it's flooded, but this is about the worst. I've seen it in a long time. Normally, once the rains kind of calm down a little bit, they taper off. Usually you'll start to see DPW crews come in, they'll start working the drains, clearing stuff out. They're not now because there's really not a lot they can do at this point. They're just going to have to wait until all this flows down river and starts to get lower. We have not seen the waters low gone down at all since we've been here. So, like I said, it's about as bad as it gets both sides shut down from here by the County Center. I'm guessing all the way down to Scarsdale, that's usually the spot, maybe even farther. You know, we saw closures on the Saw mill this morning. When you see this, you can pretty much guess all the other usual spaces are also flooded as well. So we'll continue to give you an idea. Keep a look and let you know how things are here in the meantime. Let's check in with Emily Young. She is in Rockland County in Congress and how is it looking there any better?
