Obi Nwoye, owner of The Partners Gym in Thornwood, says the goal is to avoid crowds and to control droplet transmission by limiting the amount of people touching the equipment.
"We're going to limit our capacity from 24 down to 12 in a class," says Nwoye. "At 12, we're able to create segmented zones, for each person with all the equipment they need, separated six feet apart. After the class, our strategy now…is to come in and disinfect everything that was touched, so that we can start a new class again." Patrons of the Thornwood gym will have their temperature checked at the door before entering. As well, there will be no more towel service or protein shake bar.
